House alterations, Chesterfield
Proposed new entrance and orangery extensions, terrace and rear garden alterations.
This magnificent house is located on the Old Road in Chesterfield.
The client requested minor changes to the house itself, but wished for a new, more functional entrance, a porch, to protect the residents and visitors from the weather when entering the building. To the rear of the house, a new orangery was constructed at ground floor, to offer more room in kitchen, dining and living area. Dormer windows were added to first floor bedrooms.
But the main change were the terrace and rear garden alterations, where new patio was designed. Soft landscaping areas were terraced, a set of staircases were designed to overcome the level difference and seating areas arranged. All existing planting was reused.
