House alterations, Marlborough
Extension and addition proposal for single storey house.
This charming single-storey dwelling resides gracefully on the fringes of Marlborough in the idyllic region of Wessex.
In recognizing the need for additional space, a comprehensive proposal for alterations was carefully crafted. The ground floor underwent a complete reconfiguration, with all bedrooms being elegantly relocated to the first floor. The ground floor was thoughtfully reserved exclusively for living areas. An ingenious transformation of the space over the garage resulted in the creation of an additional habitable room, culminating in a total of five bedrooms on the first floor. To enhance the lifestyle experience, a delightful new patio was meticulously designed adjacent to the living room, offering captivating views of the surrounding countryside.
In the pursuit of architectural harmony, diverse options were explored for the external facade, ranging from the incorporation of red facing brickwork (to harmonize with the existing structure) to an intriguing combination of rendered surfaces and timber elements.
