Land at Oxford Canal, Coventry
A combination of Live/Work units and Light Industrial units by the M6 Motorway and Oxford Canal in Coventry.
This unique parcel of land occupies a relatively narrow strip, nestled snugly between the M6 Motorway and the tranquil Oxford Canal. It enjoys accessibility from Shilton Lane, providing a remarkable canvas for our team.
Despite its intricate shape, this site presented an exhilarating challenge that we eagerly embraced. Our focus centered on harnessing the inherent advantages of the location, notably its proximity to the picturesque canal, offering scenic walks. Furthermore, the site boasts effortless access to the motorway, facilitating seamless connectivity to Birmingham and the M1. We were steadfast in our resolve to mitigate the disadvantages, including noise pollution from the motorway and design constraints imposed by the land's narrow dimensions.
The culmination of our efforts resulted in the creation of an innovative blend of Live/Work units seamlessly integrated with a complementary public program. A charming Café, thoughtfully situated adjacent to the canal, beckons visitors to explore the area and provides a serene retreat for residents. Work units are strategically positioned closer to the site entrance, effectively concentrating traffic and mitigating noise in this area. Meanwhile, Live units grace the upper reaches of the site, where the land widens, ensuring a tranquil environment with captivating views, shielded from the motorway's auditory intrusions.
