Shell EV competition, Bromley

Competition proposal for new Shell EV Charging station Bromley. In association with Bayliss Design.

As the global market for electric vehicles continues to expand, the United Kingdom is keeping pace with this transformative shift in transportation. With an increasing number of vehicles designed for plug-in capability, the establishment of dedicated electric vehicle charging hubs is emerging as the cornerstone of future mobility.

Shell, renowned primarily for its presence in the oil industry, marked a pioneering milestone by converting an existing fuel station into the UK's inaugural electric vehicle charging hub. This visionary move signified a significant shift towards sustainable transportation.

The overwhelmingly positive response from the community to Shell's pioneering initiative was nothing short of remarkable. Encouraged by this resounding approval, the client has taken the visionary step of announcing an architectural competition. The objective is to bring to life a cutting-edge EV charging hub tailored for cars, seamlessly integrated with an existing fuel station in Bromley.

This dynamic project also encompasses an enticing program, featuring a Little Waitrose convenience store and a Café. By combining convenience, sustainable transportation, and modern amenities, this development is poised to redefine the travel experience for all.
